Google's German Political Campaign

In Germany the German parliament is considering proposals to make search engines pay a fee to show snippets of news in search results for news organisations.

In response Google is trying to get citizens to show their opposition to the proposed changes. At the heart of the campaign is a Google Map, called #DeinNetz. Using the map Germans can show their support for Google's campaign by posting a message on the map. The map then shows in real-time the messages that Germans have posted to the map.
